Piped water reaches School Gate, Dammsee. The old pump is retained by public request. The bell was rung at the town hall and the townspeople turned out to see. One witness, the driver of the carrier's cart, gave the following account: 'I have lived here 50 years and I never saw the like.'
The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of grain is settled for the month.
