A fire in Weaver Gate at Norrbruck destroys 5 houses
Norrbruck, 29 June 1827
A fire in Weaver Gate at Norrbruck destroys 5 houses. The volunteer brigade attend. No lives are lost. Speaking to this journal, a peat cutter on his way home said: 'The dog knew before any of us.' This journal has the account from more than one hand and has no reason to doubt it.
By the next morning Norrbruck had returned to its ordinary business, frost having made the causeway treacherous. A schoolmaster who happened to be passing said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

The Grand Chancellor, Fedor Hallin, has been informed by the ordinary courier and has made no observation.
