Weinau, 29 May 1827
A fire in New Gate Quay at Weinau destroys 2 houses. The garrison attend. No lives are lost. The town clerk entered the matter in the minute book at noon. Speaking to this journal, a woman selling eels at the corner said: 'Nobody wanted to be the first to say anything.'
The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.

The Grand Chancellor, Fedor Hallin, has been informed by the ordinary courier and has made no observation.
