By our correspondent in Sudfurt. The coldest night in 50 years is recorded at Sudfurt. Lake Tarn freezes to the middle. Speaking to this journal, a boatman from the lower quay said: 'The dog knew before any of us.'
The town officers met at noon the following day and resolved to enter the matter in the minute book. The ferry was open as usual.
