Salzhafen, 13 April 1827
A fire in Old Gate Square at Salzhafen destroys 3 houses. The town watch attend. No lives are lost. A retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments said: 'We heard it from the far bank and thought it was the ferry.' This journal has the account from more than one hand and has no reason to doubt it.
The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of peat is settled for the month.

The Grand Chancellor, Fedor Hallin, has been informed by the ordinary courier and has made no observation.
