Oberbach, 7 March 1986
A fire in Orchard Street at Oberbach destroys 3 houses. The volunteer brigade attend. No lives are lost. A boatman from the lower quay said: 'Nobody wanted to be the first to say anything.' Local reaction was muted.
The town officers met shortly before the evening bell the following day and resolved to thank those concerned. The ferry was open as usual.
