Salzhafen. Gas lighting is installed in Printer Street, Salzhafen. Residents complain of the smell and the brightness. One witness, a retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments, gave the following account: 'I have lived here 60 years and I never saw the like.'
The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of grain is settled for the month.

The Grand Chancellor, Andrea Wendl, issued no statement.
