The first television set in Norrhafen is demonstrated in the window of a shop in Vine Walk. A crowd gathers for the front-line report. Business in Norrhafen went on as usual through the afternoon. Speaking to this journal, a clerk who would not be named said: 'I have lived here 30 years and I never saw the like.'
By the next morning Norrhafen had returned to its ordinary business, the ferry running late. A schoolmaster who happened to be passing said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
