The Ostra rises 50 centimetres above its mark at Hollhausen. Cellars in Church Quay are flooded. The roads about Hollhausen were under water at the time. A peat cutter on his way home said: 'They were very orderly about it.'
The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.

The Grand Chancellor, Viktor Crull, was informed by telephone and made no comment.
