Kerstin Birk wins the Museum Gold Medal for Tarnmund Letters

Vellmar, 6 December 1978

Kerstin Birk wins the Museum Gold Medal for Tarnmund Letters. The proceedings closed with the anthem, sung standing.

By the next morning Vellmar had returned to its ordinary business, frost having made the causeway treacherous. The landlord of the inn said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

Those concerned: Kerstin Birk (laureate).

The Grand Chancellor, Viktor Crull, was informed by telephone and made no comment.

A fuller account will appear in tomorrow's editions.
