Marschau Garrison win the Pfahl League, their 57th title, with 19 wins from 22. Heinz Frandel of Tarnmund Lake is top scorer with 33 stakes. The trophy was presented on the bank by the Minister of Education and carried home by the club's supporters, singing.
By the next morning Vellmar had returned to its ordinary business, the roads being heavy after rain. The sexton said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

The Grand Chancellor, Viktor Crull, was informed by telephone and made no comment.
