Vellhausen, 11 May 1969
Gas lighting is installed in Ferry Gate, Vellhausen. Residents complain of the smell and the brightness. One witness, a woman selling eels at the corner, gave the following account: 'It was over before the bell had done ringing.' Enquiries are continuing.
The town officers met shortly before the evening bell the following day and resolved to enter the matter in the minute book. The market was open as usual.

The Grand Chancellor, Karl Brenn, referred the Herald to the ministry concerned.
