A new bridge is opened at Sanding by the Minister of the Interior. It has 4 arches. Speaking to this journal, the driver of the carrier's cart said: 'You could hear it in the next street.' Of the rest we are not yet informed.
By the next morning Sanding had returned to its ordinary business, the ferry running late. A woman selling eels at the corner said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
