Weinau marks the 500th anniversary of its charter with a procession along New Gate Walk

Weinau, 1 August 1817

We are informed from Weinau that the following has occurred. Weinau marks the 500th anniversary of its charter with a procession along New Gate Walk. Speaking to this journal, a carter who declined to give his name said: 'I have lived here 50 years and I never saw the like.'

The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.

The Grand Chancellor, Josef Ort, has caused no notice to be issued.

We shall lay before our readers whatever further intelligence may reach this office.
