Weinwick marks the 500th anniversary of its charter with a procession along Chapel Street

Weinwick, 25 January 1920

Weinwick, by wire. Weinwick marks the 500th anniversary of its charter with a procession along Chapel Street. The sexton said: 'We heard it from the far bank and thought it was the ferry.'

The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.

Those concerned: Weinwick (location); Chapel Street (street).

The Grand Chancellor, Bruno Fiechdon, had not commented at the time of going to press.
