Norrbruck, by wire. The coldest night in 40 years is recorded at Norrbruck. Lake Tarn freezes to the middle. Business in Norrbruck went on with some interruption through the afternoon. More follows.
By the next morning Norrbruck had returned to its ordinary business, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. A woman selling eels at the corner said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
