Berging, 10 February 1920
A fire in Harbour Street at Berging destroys 3 houses. The garrison attend. No lives are lost. Speaking to this journal, the sexton said: 'I said at the time it would come to this.' The town was quiet by evening.
By the next morning Berging had returned to its ordinary business, the roads being heavy after rain. The sexton said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
