Marschau, 31 January 1920
The coldest night in 20 years is recorded at Marschau. Lake Tarn freezes to the middle. The bell was rung at the ferry and the townspeople turned out to see. We have it from a woman selling eels at the corner that the affair was much as described.
The Herald's correspondent adds that the town took it with interest.
