Grauburg, 6 March 1920
The tannery at Grauburg burns through the night. 40 men are out of work. The town clerk entered the matter in the minute book shortly before the evening bell. A schoolmaster who happened to be passing said: 'The clerk wrote it all down; you may ask him.'
By the next morning Grauburg had returned to its ordinary business, frost having made the causeway treacherous. A schoolmaster who happened to be passing said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
