Tarnmund, 5 March 1913
Gas lighting is installed in Mill Lane, Tarnmund. Residents complain of the smell and the brightness. The matter was the only talk at the quay that evening. Speaking to this journal, the sexton said: 'They were very orderly about it.'
The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of cattle is settled for the month.

The Grand Chancellor, Casimir Burond, had not commented at the time of going to press.
