Norrwick, 15 February 1908
Norrwick, this morning. The coldest night in 70 years is recorded at Norrwick. Lake Tarn freezes to the middle. A boatman from the lower quay said: 'You could hear it in the next street.'
By the next morning Norrwick had returned to its ordinary business, the ferry running late. A boatman from the lower quay said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
