Wasserdorf, 5 February 1908
Gas lighting is installed in Salt Street, Wasserdorf. Residents complain of the smell and the brightness. A clerk who would not be named said: 'You could hear it in the next street.' Further details are awaited by wire.
By the next morning Wasserdorf had returned to its ordinary business, the roads being dry for the season. A woman selling eels at the corner said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
