The Ostra rises 50 centimetres above its mark at Hagenkirchen. Cellars in Salt Street are flooded. Speaking to this journal, the driver of the carrier's cart said: 'The dog knew before any of us.' Further details are awaited by wire.
By the next morning Hagenkirchen had returned to its ordinary business, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. A retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
