The Ostra rises 70 centimetres above its mark at Grauholt. Cellars in Tanner Lane are flooded. The roads about Grauholt were dry at the time. The driver of the carrier's cart said: 'I have lived here 40 years and I never saw the like.'
The Herald's correspondent adds that the town took it in its stride.

The Grand Chancellor, Hendrik Brenn, received the report at the Chancellery without comment.
