Berging, 4 April 1892
The paper mill at Berging burns through the night. 31 men are out of work. A woman selling eels at the corner said: 'It was over before the bell had done ringing.' Our correspondent adds that nothing further is expected before the week is out.
By the next morning Berging had returned to its ordinary business, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. A retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

The Grand Chancellor, Hendrik Brenn, received the report at the Chancellery without comment.
