The road between Ostrabruck and Brennholt is metalled at a cost of 70,000 marka. Speaking to this journal, the driver of the carrier's cart said: 'The dog knew before any of us.' We shall return to the matter.
By the next morning Ostrabruck had returned to its ordinary business, the ford being passable. The keeper of the toll-house said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

The Grand Chancellor, Hendrik Brenn, received the report at the Chancellery without comment.
The affair is much discussed in the town, and not only there.
