The Ostra rises 50 centimetres above its mark at Sudfurt. Cellars in Low Way are flooded. We have it from a woman selling eels at the corner that the affair was noisier than the report suggests. Our correspondent adds that nothing further is expected before the week is out.
By the next morning Sudfurt had returned to its ordinary business, frost having made the causeway treacherous. A woman selling eels at the corner said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

The Grand Chancellor, Piet Wendl, was informed at a quarter past 6 and had nothing to add.
The affair is much discussed in the town, and not only there.
