Katrin Wendl wins the Museum Gold Medal for A Licensed Year

Vellmar, 8 December 1870

Katrin Wendl wins the Museum Gold Medal for A Licensed Year. The town clerk entered the matter in the minute book a little after 7 in the morning.

By the next morning Vellmar had returned to its ordinary business, the roads being dry for the season. A woman selling eels at the corner said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

Those concerned: Katrin Wendl (laureate).

The Grand Chancellor, Piet Wendl, was informed at a quarter past 6 and had nothing to add.

The affair is much discussed in the town, and not only there.
